Project Extension
Lets you set an image as the Project window background and replace folder icons with images of your choice. Configure it from the Project tab (folder icons live in its child item フォルダアイコン (Folder Icon)) of the window opened via the main menu さたにあしょっぴんぐ/エディタカスタマイザー/Editor Setting (Satania Shopping / Editor Customizer / Editor Setting).
Background Image
- In Two Column Layout, you can set different images for the "folder column (left)" and the "explorer column (right)" (テクスチャ (Texture) / 不透明度 (Opacity) / スケールモード (Scale Mode) can be set separately for each)
- In One Column Layout, the explorer-side settings apply to the whole window
- The background is also applied while search results are shown
- Rows, icons, and the selection highlight are drawn on top of the image, so they never get buried. The image is a fixed background that doesn't move when scrolling (same behavior as the Hierarchy / Inspector backgrounds)
- Available in projects that have the VRChat SDK (its bundled Harmony)
Folder Icons
Replaces the icons of folders in the Project window with images of your choice (based on SimpleFolderIcon). Enabled by default.
- Bundled presets (19): folders named
Animations/Audio/Editor/Editor Default Resources/Fonts/Gizmos/Materials/Models/Plugins/Prefabs/Presets/Resources/Scenes/Scripts/Settings/Shaders/Sprites/StreamingAssets/Texturesget an icon automatically (case-insensitive; singular forms such asTextureforTexturesorMaterialforMaterialsget the same icon). From the list in the settings you can turn each preset off or replace its image (「同梱に戻す」 (Reset to bundled) restores it) - Individual settings: use 「追加...」 (Add...) on the settings page, or right-click a folder in the Project window → 「フォルダアイコンを設定...」 (Set folder icon...). The target is either "by folder name (every folder with that name)" or "a specific folder"; the icon is a bundled preset, an image of your choice, or "draw nothing (keep Unity's default)"
- Where it is saved: two tiers, same as the window background: 「このプロジェクトのみ」 (this project only,
UserSettings/EditorUserSettings.asset) and 「グローバル」 (global, EditorPrefs, shared by every project that has SCE). Priority: specific folder > folder name match > bundled preset, and within the same kind this project only > global. Images saved globally are resolved by GUID, then by path, so they work in another project when the same image sits at the same path - Custom icons work best as square transparent PNGs (256×256 recommended). The bundled
Default.png(Packages/net.satania.customeditors/Editor/__Resource/FolderIcons/) is the template - Icons are drawn exactly where Unity draws its folder icon in every layout: one / two columns, list / grid. Only public Unity APIs are used, so it also works in projects without the VRChat SDK (Harmony) and on Unity 2019.4 / 2021.3
Credits for the bundled icons
The bundled icons come from SimpleFolderIcon (by Seaeees, MIT License); some of them use Material design icons (Apache License 2.0). The license text ships in the same folder as the icons.
File Name Tooltips
Hovering a file in the Project window shows its full file name with the extension (no directory) as a tooltip. In the grid view (zoomed in) names get cut off with "…" and the extension is never shown, so this lets you check them. Configure it under Editor Setting > Project > 「ファイル名のツールチップ」 (File name tooltip); enabled by default.
- By default the tooltip only appears in the grid view (zoomed in). 「リスト表示でも出す」 (Also in list view) enables it in the un-zoomed list and the tree as well, so you can check extensions there
- 「名前が省略されているときだけ」 (Only when the name is cut off) limits it to files whose names are truncated with "…"
- Sub-assets such as meshes inside an FBX show as "sub-asset name (file name 内)" (Unity 2022.2 or later; older versions show the parent file name)
- The tooltip uses Unity's standard mechanism (a separate window), so it is never hidden behind neighboring icons or text. No Harmony required
