Texture2DArray Wrapper Asset

Easily create and update a Texture2DArray from multiple Texture2D assets.

  1. Create one via Assets/Create/Texture2D Array
  2. Register the source Texture2D assets in the Inspector
  3. Click the 「反映」 (Apply) button to generate / update the Texture2DArray (as a sub-asset)

Material references stay intact

An update swaps only the contents while keeping the fileID, so it is safe to assign the asset to a material beforehand.

  • Output settings can be switched between Auto (follows the first source) and Explicit (size, format, mipmaps, sRGB). Filter / Wrap / Aniso sampler settings are included as well
  • When the conditions match, the data is copied losslessly (BC/DXT compressed data as-is); otherwise it is converted automatically (Crunch-compressed sources are fine too). The result for each slice is logged to the Console
  • Existing Texture2DArray assets can also be migrated without breaking references via 「ラッパーアセットへ変換」 (Convert to Wrapper Asset) in the Inspector (the standard preview is kept)
Implementation Notes (for Developers)
  • Updates use CopySerialized to swap only the contents while keeping the fileID
  • The generated asset is saved as Readable, so it consumes extra memory at runtime for the CPU-side copy
